The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for 2019 African Cup of Nation,after a 1-1 draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on Saturday at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.

After missing out on back-to-back editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles booked their place in Cameroon 2019 despite despite one more game to play in the qualifying series against Seychelles in March.

With five games played, Nigeria now have 10 points.

Since winning the 2013 edition of the AFCON, Nigeria had failed to qualify for the 2015 and 2017 editions.

But on Saturday, the Super Eagles left no one in doubt about their desire to qualify, starting strongly with Ahmed Musa forcing goalkeeper Itumeleng  Khune into a good save with a superb curler.

Two minutes later, Buhle Mkhwanazi scored an own goal for the Super Eagles, off a cross from Samuel Kalu.

But the hosts levelled in the 71st minute and that was how it finished.

In the other game, Libya mauled Seychelles 8-1.

The winner between South Africa and Libya will join the Super Eagles for the June/July 24-Nations competition in Cameroon.
