Even though the Atlanta, Georgia-native had dropped the song as as part of the “Yeehaw Challenge” on the video sharing app TikTok, he recorded unprecedented success.

In fact, “Old Town Road” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and was controversially removed from the Hot Country Songs after debuting at number 19.
